Fourteen minutes. That is the length of the set Jay-Z will perform on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium for the Super Bowl halftime show. The rapper has officially booked his own slot, marking a shift from his usual role as a producer for other artists.
Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation have partnered with the NFL to produce the halftime show since 2019. In previous years, the duo managed the event for external headliners. This time, Jay-Z is stepping into the performer role himself. He serves as a key decision maker for the lineup, though he has not yet named any special guests.
Beyonce is the most likely candidate for a guest appearance. The two have been married since 2018 and share three children. Their musical history dates back to the early 2000s, with hits like "Crazy in Love" and "Drunk in Love." Beyonce has extensive experience on the NFL stage, including headlining the 2016 halftime show with Coldplay and Bruno Mars. She also performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001 and took the stage during the 2024 Christmas Day game in Houston.
Rihanna is another strong possibility for the guest list. Jay-Z, who was CEO of Def Jam Records in 2005, signed Rihanna to the label. She later moved to Roc Nation in 2010. The two have collaborated on tracks such as "Umbrella" and "Run This Town." Rihanna headlined the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, where she announced her pregnancy during the performance. She also made a surprise appearance on Jay-Z's tour at Yankee Stadium earlier this year.
Blu Ivy Carter, the oldest child of Jay-Z and Beyonce, is also on the radar. She performed as a dancer during her mother's 2024 Christmas Day halftime show in Houston. She also joined the Cowboy Carter tour as a dancer. Her fan base is already visible at concerts, with attendees holding signs and chanting her name. She frequently attends NFL games with her father, making a family appearance at the Super Bowl a distinct possibility.
Eminem rounds out the list of potential guests. The two rappers collaborated on the song "Renegade" for the album The Blueprint. Eminem recently joined Jay-Z on stage for his current tour. He has prior Super Bowl experience, having performed as a special guest at the 2022 halftime show. That event featured a hip-hop lineup that included several major artists.
The NFL has not yet announced which teams will play in the 2027 Super Bowl. The two competing teams will be determined on the final day of January. Until then, the focus remains on the halftime show and the potential guests Jay-Z might bring out for his solo set.
